Individual Assignment : Section 2

The first international match was in 1872 in Glasgow between England and Scotland, at the beginning of the twentieth century .Due to the increased games and local federations that grew up, there was a need for more rules and more clear explanations for the game , so it could be organized and there would be less challenges of results. All the confederations should be under one body set up by FIFA in Paris in 1904 . This then could govern the game internationally and many relevant committees resulted. The founding member  of the Union were Belgium, France, Sweden, Denmark, Spain and Portugal. FIFA is made up of many members, led by a president is elected every four years by the members and representing many countries in different continents.

FIFA tried to attract people to follow the game in many ways. To do this successfully there was a  creation of the world championships and this event managed to attract people in masses. The first tournament in the history of FIFA was in 1908 under the Olympic Games in London. In subsequent years there was the establishment of the World Cup , a competition containing all the confederations. Matches in the stadiums were filled to capacity to encourage the teams.
